A complete P&C offering for franchised auto, truck, and RV dealers as well as large independent auto dealers.
For over 25 years, DealerGuard has provided insurance solutions to agents competing with the direct writers. Our comprehensive offering gives local agents all they need to protect auto, truck, and RV (franchised only) dealerships.

Program “Sweet Spot” includes new & larger used automobile, truck and RV (new only) businesses. Independent dealers should mirror best practices of franchised dealers. Best results come when we can write all lines on dealerships with between 50 and 2,000 employees and under 12% demo issuance.

Eligibility Requirements

 

Eligible Risks:

  • Franchise automobile, truck and recreational vehicles dealers. Typical operations include: automobile sales and leasing of new vehicles including incidental operations such as selling used vehicles and repair and service of new and used vehicles.
  • Minimum account premium is $25,000
  • Dealer Open Lot stand-alone minimum premium is $4,800
  • Dealer Open Lot coverage is available in conjunction with Manufacturer and Floorplan coverage.
  • Independent Auto Dealer Package minimum premium is $20,000 (see DealerGuard Open Lot application for exposures)

Ineligible Risks:

  • Auto (daily or weekly) rental operations
  • Bus, boat, motorcycle and ATV dealers (inventory protection is available for bus and motorcycle)
  • Call if risk is involved in emergency equipment sales or repair as well as bus repair operations
  • Independent Auto Dealers with less than 3 years history, salvage operations, and retaining of title on financed or leased vehicles

General Liability Coverage:

  • General Liability coverage is available in all states except dealerships domiciled or with major operations in the following venues: CT, NJ, downstate NY (south of Route 84), Cook County, IL, FL and LA.

Dealer Open Lot Coverage:

  • Dealer Open Lot coverage is available in all states with restrictions in those states with high end extreme hail zones.

Obtain A Quote

The DealerGuard program is available to independent agents in the U.S. You must be approved to write business with Willis Programs before you we can bind coverage for your client. If you are not, please visit our “Writing Business With Us” page.

In an instance where the same submission is received from more than one broke, a Broker of Record letter determines control.

All Submissions should include the following:

Garage Package Coverage:* 

  • Completed ACORD forms for each desired line of business
  • DealerGuard Supplemental Application (documents listed on the checklist are required for underwriting and determine eligibility)
  • Currently valued loss runs (current plus three prior years)

Open Lot Coverage:

  • Completed DealerGuard Application
  • Three years of currently valued, hard copy, carrier loss runs (a loss summary and/or list of loss codes is most helpful)
  • Franchised dealers: page one of most recent month end financial statement for each franchise/dealership
  • Non-franchised dealers: detailed inventory listing for all vehicles
  • The date you need the quote
  • Expiring and/or target premiums
